Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on realignment technique. It uses a light touch to release tension around the body's bone and connective tissue networks, called the fascia. CST helps to release tension, support alignment, unwind joints, and promote relaxation and blood flow throughout the structures of the body.
What can I expect?
Dr. Sand invites patients to lie in a comfortable position to gently assess the movement of the cerebrospinal fluid, or craniosacral "pulse". Depending on the assessment, a session might involve gentle touch on the head, face, base of the skull, neck, shoulders, abdomen, hips, arms or legs. This feels like gentle pressure with occasional shifts in movement. Most people receiving CST report feeling more physically and psychological relaxation and improvements in pain following sessions.
